Date:                 Monday, Nov. 25, 2024

Time:                 6:00 pm

Location:           5181 Northwest Parkway, Hilliard, OH 43026

Meet with the City about the rezoning of Wolpert property Davidson Rd.
Prior to this rezoning going to Council, David Meadows, our Economic Development Director and I would like to find a time to meet with the residents of Britton Farms and Carrington Place. We’d like to present the site layout and discuss the details of the proposed PUD.

Info from Michelle Crandall, Hilliard City Manager:
The Hilliard Development Corporation is starting the review process for the rezoning of the Woolpert Property from Rural Residential (R-R) to Planned Unit Development District (PUD) for the creation of an employment-based technology park with designated greenspace and trail connections. The City’s Planning & Zoning Commission will hear the case on November 14. After review by P&Z, their recommendation would be forwarded to Hilliard City Council for consideration and a final decision on the rezoning in either December or January.
Here is a link to the rezoning case before the Planning and Zoning Commission (Case #5) – Woolpert Property Rezoning . There are four attachments related to the case.
Prior to this rezoning going to Council, David Meadows, our Economic Development Director and I would like to find a time to meet with the residents of Britton Farms and Carrington Place. We’d like to present the site layout and discuss the details of the proposed PUD. We have taken into consideration adjacent residential areas by providing a significant open space/parkland buffer, which could also serve as an amenity and potential trail connection.

Hilliard Police Crime Maps and Crime Alerts

The City of Hilliard Division of Police has launched a new crime mapping tool, Citizen Connect.

The online tool is connected with the department’s records management system and allows users to track crime in the Hilliard police jurisdiction. Users can search cases, incidents and traffic crashes by date, location, and type of crime.

Search results will include incident type, report number, date the incident was reported, and a block number. The exact addresses will not be included.

Citizens can also create an account to receive alerts for when a crime occurs in a certain area.

“This is another transparency tool we’re excited to offer to our residents,” said Chief of Police Michael Woods. “Not only does it allow residents to be more aware of activity in their neighborhoods, but it also encourages community engagement to improve policing services.”

Users should note the interface does not provide live data. Generally, activity will load onto the portal within 24 to 48 hours.

For various reasons, including changes in report classification, delays in reporting, and the processing of reports, data can change over time. Some reports may take up to 30 days or longer to process and some reports may only be available via a public records request.

Some data will not be available on Citizen Connect

Britton Farms Park Clean Up: May 2017

[nggallery id=”24″]

BFHA President John Stanton would like to thank all of those residents that were able to contribute to the Britton Farms Park cleanup this evening, it was a huge success. We will be sending out an update in the future to finish any projects not completed tonight, stay tuned for more information. Also, a special thanks to fellow resident Greg Rokoff for spearheading this event and getting more upgrades to the park this summer. The city is looking to install a swing sometime this summer.

Britton Farms Park Spring Clean Up and Improvements

Britton Farms Community partners with the Hilliard Recreation and Parks Department

Hilliard Rec and Parks has committed a lot of supplies for Britton Farms Park to make it look fantastic, including a new wheelchair/stroller accessible path to the shelter house. Britton Farms Homeowners will come together to provide hands on support…while making our park look fantastic. Please join us from for fun day of service with our neighbors.

Here is what we have planned:

When: May 21…12:00-3:30

What We Will Do:

  • Park and Rec will spray and lay out gravel on the path. We will help rake and spread it.
  • I asked Park and Rec to make a wheel chair/stroller accessible path from the sidewalk to the shelter house…they agreed to do this. Park and Rec will cut out the path and we will fill it with special gravel that will last a long and support wheels.
  • We will be sanding and painting the picnic tables…and maybe some of the shelter house.
  • Park and Rec is supplying equipment to power wash the shelter house.
  • We will have trash bags and gloves to pick up trash and pile up branches.
  • We will trim some of the trees and bushes.

Food and Drinks: Britton Farms HOA will provide snacks and water.

What to Bring: Rakes, clippers, etc…though we should have plenty.

Why: Because Britton Farms is the best community in Hilliard. It will be a fun day of service and support for our Hilliard Park and Rec. Please plan to join us with your family and let’s make our park something to be proud of…it will be a lot of fun!

Any questions, feel free to contact Greg Rokoff (4529 Withem Court) at either 614-397-9052 or gwrokoff@gmail.com.

Dog Barking Reminder

It’s been awhile since this reminder went out to our members. Britton Farms residents are reminded that “frequent or habitual” dog barking is not only UN-neighborly, but also a violation of the Hilliard City Code.

The second paragraph in the code requires pet owners to “immediately” clean up after your dog when walking through the neighborhood.

Please be a responsible pet owner; it’s been said there’s no such thing as a bad dog–only a bad owner.

505.16  NUISANCE CONDITIONS PROHIBITED; BARKING.

     (a)     No person being the owner, keeper or person having control of a dog, cat or other domestic animal or fowl, shall permit or allow such animal to annoy or disturb one or more of the inhabitants of two or more separate residences of this Municipality by the frequent or habitual howling, yelping, barking or making of other such noises within the corporate limits.

     (b)     No person being the owner, keeper or person having control of a dog, cat or other domestic animal or fowl shall permit such animal to dig or defecate on any public or private property in the City, other than the property of the owner or person in control of such animal, or allow any animal to damage any part of a lawn, tree, shrub, plant, building or other property, other than the property of the owner or person in control of such animal, by means of urination.  The foregoing prohibition as to defecation shall not apply when the person in control of such animal immediately removes all feces deposited by it and disposes of the same in a sanitary manner.

Tree Replacements–Message from City of Hilliard

As Hilliard’s city forester, I want to update you on the tree replacements within Britton Farms.  The contractor has planted most of the trees within the subdivision, he’s just waiting on the nursery to send a few more.  Most of the trees are replacements for removed ash trees.  The city will continue to monitor and remove any right-of-way ash that reaches or exceeds the 80% crown dieback threshold.  As trees are removed replacement trees will be planted.

Proper watering is the best action homeowners can take to ensure trees will grow and thrive.  As long as the ground isn’t frozen, the attached gator bags should be refilled whenever the area receive less than 1″ of precipitation over a 7 to 10 day period.  If you or any of your residents have questions, please have them contact me.  Thanks.
